My approach to this project has always been a personal one, with it being my first attempt at making music by myself. I understood that the only limits would be the ones that I would set for myself, and I would be free to do any kind of music I wanted with methods I chose. This also means that I could get personal and make music based on how I felt and what I was thinking at the time. To drive the point home, the name of the project comes from my actual name.
Harmakvein, my latest release, took form during a recent difficult period in my life. During that time I felt like I was losing a battle against difficult emotions and suicidal ideation. While undergoing treatment, Harmakvein took form. The words that serve for lyrics are the thoughts that haunted me during restless hours in a hospital bed, unintelligibly recited to exorcise them. The noise laden drones and harsh end-time atmosphere were improvised from my mental state and the chaos going on in my head during those months. These four tracks are the results of something I felt compelled to get out of me in order to heal and move on. I am not there yet, but that does not mean the journey has come to an end. Seeds for plans have been planted and I will work towards my goal.
If you or anyone you know is dealing with depression, know that there is help out there. Don't hesitate to seek it if you feel it is needed.
